When it comes to driving the Evo, you will absolutely be pleasantly surprised. You have three choices when it comes to driving Tarmac, Gravel, and Snow. The stock lightweight flywheels do not last long when driving it hard, so we recommend the ACT Streetlite flywheel for all of our EVO's.

 Most stock non streetlite flywheels are heavy cast iron parts designed for optimum street driveability by soaking up some of the power from the engine and putting it in storage in the form of inertia. Light weight flywheels keep less inertia in storage but the lighter rotating mass provides significantly improved engine response and acceleration characteristics. Until now most aftermarket streetlite flywheels for sport compact vehicles presented certain undesirable concessions to the user. Many are too light or fragile for the application, others have reliability issues and all are very expensive.

Both of our Evo's are equipped with an ACT Streetlite fly wheel. The ACT Streetlite fly wheel really let the Evo rev up freely and efficiently.  One of the things I think is very cool with the Gravel setting is that you can manoeuvre on gravel roads without being led into the trenches that heavily traveled roads may have.

 The ACT Streetlite flywheels allow you to push you Evo to its limits without worrying about your flywheel shattering. The brakes on the vehicle are also quite efficient, and do not tend to show any wear after intense levels of driving. The ACT flywheels let you shift quickly and efficiently without missing a gear or grinding.

With its ultra quick steering, ACT Streetlite flywheels and race-tuned suspension, few cars can match the ACT Lancer Evo's bang for the buck. The learning curve is as short as they come given that the car reacts with quick, predictable movements at every turn. Of course, at day's end the firm suspension can take its toll on your backside.
